Daniah Williams and Associated British Ports

MRG are excited to be launching a brand-new, multi-hire campaign with Associated British Ports this month. ABP owns and operates 21 ports in the United Kingdom, managing around 25 percent of the UK’s sea-borne trade. Daniah Williams, Business Director within our Real Estate team, discusses the new campaign and her ongoing relationship with the team at ABP.

We’re about to launch 5 new exciting roles across ABP’s national portfolio. My relationship with ABP has been ongoing for approximately the last 5 years, and over the years I’ve placed 8 candidates nationally.

The leadership team have worked hard over the last six months to devise a new property strategy and secure buy-in from the company Board, and are now at the exciting stage of implementation and unlocking new growth pathways – this means more opportunities for asset management and maximising value, and identifying a need within the team for more talent – which I am excited to be a part of.

What I love about working with ABP is that the portfolio is incredibly interesting and diverse – exciting for any prospective candidate, as no two days are the same. The offering is a fresh alternative to a traditional real estate firm, and it’s a corporate business where property has an impact – ABP’s ports handle around one quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade, and over £150 billion of UK trade annually. There’s opportunities to work in diverse geographical locations right across the UK- from Humber down to Southampton and right across to Wales.  It’s a truly national business, opening up opportunities for candidates living across the UK.

Aside from the roles and the business itself, the internal stakeholders at ABP have been a joy to work with. They communicate effectively and their teams are well developed. The feedback I’ve had from my candidates that I’ve placed over the years has been positive, they’ve shown a real longevity and career growth in their roles and I am pleased to see them thrive.

This is a truly exciting time to be joining ABP if you’re looking for a positive career move. The alternative mixed-use logistics market is particularly strong and will continue to grow. Anyone in a consultancy looking to move in-house and make their mark on a client-side role would be wise to apply. Check out the roles advertised below and if they’re of interest, I’d love to speak to you.
