The University of Sheffield is seeking to recruit to the role of Associate Director of EFM: Property, Strategy and Business Support.

The Department of Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) at the University of Sheffield is the largest Professional Services Department at the University, employing over 720 staff across a range of professions and specialist areas.  

Now is an exciting time to take up a leadership role within the department.  Following the appointment of a new Director of Estates and Facilities Management in March 2024, EFM is entering a transformational period with further leadership appointments in the department that will shape the team and culture for many years to come.  There are exciting challenges ahead, with the development of a new estate strategy, significant capital investment, drive to net zero, asset management and space optimisation, engineering and maintenance delivery and campus services provision.

Reporting to the Director of EFM, the Associate Director of EFM: Property, Strategy and Business Support is responsible for leading on the University’s approach to the effective management and utilisation of space, property and land across the university’s large-scale and complex portfolio, which services as a crucial enabler to the realisation of the University’s Vision and Strategic Plan.  The remit of the role also includes leadership on estate data information management, to inform strategic planning and decision making.

We are seeking an individual with demonstrable career experience in leading the development and implementation of property and space management strategies across complex estate portfolios.  The role calls for a leader that is a natural collaborator with excellent stakeholder management skills as well as being inventive yet data-driven in their approach to deliver property solutions that benefit end users and create value.
