What do you do at MRG?
I’m a Graphic Designer. My role involves collaborating with various sectors, designing visual materials, and ensuring brand consistency to strengthen our identity.
What are you most proud about that you have achieved in your career to date?
Probably after having to take time out for childcare, it was quite challenging and daunting to get back into the design industry. It wasn’t just about picking any job; it was finding something with the right balance and values.
How did you get into Design, and why?
From a young age I have always gravitated towards anything to do with arts and crafts. I studied what I enjoyed doing and followed a path into Graphic Design.
What energises you about working in this sector?
Graphic Design is visual communication and creative problem-solving. I enjoy taking information and producing it in a more visually engaging and stimulating way.
What’s the biggest thing that’s changed in Design since you started?
One of the biggest transitions has been going from print to a digital platform. Mobile devices, social media and websites are now more the primary focus over print.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, I managed the retail stall along Pall Mall. Watching and meeting lots of athletes was amazing!
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Life is like a camera…
Focus on what’s important,
Capture the good times,
Develop from the negatives,
And if that doesn’t work out, take another shot!
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Creative, Approachable. Understanding.
And finally, who would play you in the movie about your life?
Julia Roberts
