What do you do at The Management Recruitment Group
I head up the sustainability and energy desk working in higher education and the wider public sector.
What are you most proud about that you have achieved in your career to date?
I am an extremely driven individual who has always pushed myself to achieve results. I have worked my way up into more senior positions in every role and company throughout my career. I enjoy challenging myself and taking on new responsibilities.
How did you get into recruitment, and why?
After working in hospitality for many years, I needed a change that would provide me with a better work-life balance. Recruitment was recommended to me by some of my close friends as it plays on my personal demeanour. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and building long lasting relationships.
What energises you about working in recruitment?
The collaborative nature of the work, involving diverse stakeholders, fosters a sense of community and shared purpose.
You specialise in sustainability and energy appointments, what interests you about this sector?
I have always had an interest in sustainability and energy for many reasons. Sustainability involves meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Energy is a crucial aspect of sustainability as our current energy systems have significant environmental impacts. Exploring and adopting sustainable energy solutions, such as renewable energy sources and energy efficiency measures, can help mitigate these impacts and create a more sustainable future.
What’s the biggest thing that’s changed in recruitment since you started?
Candidates respond quicker through communicating with them via text message or WhatsApp, rather than emails.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I have played football on and off since the age of 10. When I was younger I played for Hampshire and currently play as centre mid field for Liphook Ladies.
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Start a new day as if it’s your last – enjoy every moment.
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Loud, approachable & fun
And finally, who would play you in the movie about your life?
Jennifer Lawrence
