Royal Museums Greenwich are seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Manager to join their Estates & Facilities Management team.

Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) is a collection of diverse historical sites. The sites are the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and the Queen’s House. Each of these sites has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise. Reporting to the Senior Estates Manager, the postholder is responsible for maintaining and improving the efficient running of all sites and multiple buildings across the Royal Museums Greenwich Estate.

Key elements of the role will involve stewardship of nationally significant buildings including scheduled monuments and buildings within a UNESCO World Heritage Site; ensuring statutory, regulatory compliance and best practices are achieved and maintained; supporting the delivery of the capital investment programme; and being the technical authority in all mechanical and electrical buildings across the Royal Museums Greenwich Estate.

Further core responsibilities include managing the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of all mechanical and electrical services across the Museum’s estate. As well as audit and advise on the performance of the M&E and specialist contractors; ensure value for money, best practice and innovation and risk management. 

The successful candidate will need to have demonstrable experience of delivering the provision of mechanical & electrical maintenance at a management level and In-depth knowledge of building health & safety and technical compliance. Experience in a heritage environment is desirable.
The post holder is required to be an enthusiastic and dynamic person able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and actively contribute to the Estates Management team’s work.
