Overview:
Our client is an ambitious, PIF-backed project based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, dedicated to fostering arts, culture, and heritage. As part of its commitment to enriching the cultural fabric of the region, they are seeking a Head of Development for Arts and Cultural Assets. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing the development of various cultural assets, including museums, mosques and religious buildings, galleries, festival grounds, and various creative districts.

Responsibilities:
As the Head of Development – Arts and Cultural Assets, you will be responsible:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the development of arts and cultural assets in alignment with the organization's overarching vision and objectives.
  • Development Management: Oversee the planning, design, and construction phases of cultural facilities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Financial Management: Develop budgets for cultural asset development projects and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness. Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for revenue generation through cultural assets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, cultural institutions, artists, and community organizations. Represent the organization at cultural events, conferences, and meetings to promote cultural assets and establish partnerships.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cultural facility development and operations. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard assets and investments.

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Architecture, Urban Planning, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (15+ years) in cultural facility development, arts management, or related fields, with a track record of successful projects.
  • Strong understanding of cultural industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Passion for arts and culture and a commitment to fostering creativity and heritage preservation.
