What do you do at MRG?
I am a Campaign Delivery Manager for our Public Sector Estates team. I have a varied role, however in essence, my job is to ensure candidates and clients received the best possible service.
What are you most proud about that you have achieved in your career to date?
It is hard to just pick one, there are so many campaigns and projects that I have worked on over the years that I am proud to have been a part of. However, most recently I led a project to automate a reporting process, which not only made the outputs more aesthetically pleasing, but it saved a lot of time.
How did you get into recruitment, and why?
I fell into recruitment after working in retail and hospitality. Once I was in it and learning, my passion grew, I soon learned that my high organisation skills were perfect for Executive Search and then kept growing my career from there.
What energises you about working in this sector?
No day is ever the same, different people, different challenges.
What’s the biggest thing that’s changed in recruitment since you started?
Flexibility & hybrid working – when I first started in the recruitment world everything was in person which was non-negotiable and commuting 5 days a week for any role was the norm. However, now you see people holding more meetings virtually, working from home, allowing flexible work patterns to fit around peoples personal lives and commitments.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I am a massive book worm and I don’t go anywhere without my kindle.
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Always be yourself, because nobody else can be you.
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Hopefully: organised, caring & reliable. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if clumsy made the list!
And finally, who would play you in the movie about your life?
Would you believe this is the hardest question I think you’ve asked! There are so many actresses I love, for so many different reasons but I think I’ll go with Emilia Clarke!
