About Leena
I joined MRG in 2016 as Executive Assistant to Ben Duffill and now play a central role in shaping the people and culture of the business.
My role focuses on supporting recruitment delivery and day-to-day campaign management, while working closely with teams across the organisation to ensure a positive and consistent employee experience.
I manage business operations across the organisation, oversee internal recruitment processes, and lead end-to-end onboarding, ensuring new starters feel welcomed, supported, and aligned with MRG’s values from day one. As Training Lead, I coordinate learning and development initiatives across both UK and global teams, supporting continuous growth and capability building.
I am a certified member of the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) team and recently qualified at CIPD Foundation Level, further strengthening my commitment to best practice in people management. I am passionate about employee engagement and play an active role in nurturing and evolving MRG’s people-centric culture.
Q&A With Leena
What makes MRG 'Different by Design'?
As an organisation we are typically distinguished in the manner we approach recruitment, especially in fields such as management and executive level roles. We have a diverse team, all unique within their specialism who have built a career focusing on specific sectors and as such this has allowed us to understand unique challenges, industry requirements, and general recruitment practices for our clients. We don’t provide a one shoe that fits all recruitment programme. Our processes employ various recruitment strategies each tailored to meet and align with our client needs for a targeted outreach to potential candidates. We provide a consultative approach, working closely with our clients to understand their strategic goals and the importance of how the right person can help achieve this. We thrive off our long-term relationships with our clients and candidates, built on honesty, integrity and hard work, this makes us different by design, we value the time spent building our on-going relationships past and present and future.
How has your career at MRG progressed?
I joined MRG wanting a change in direction and to utilise my skills, knowledge and experience within the recruitment industry. I was given the opportunity to work with Ben as his EA and support a wonderful team of high achievers. Fast forward to the present day, I remain part of a team that has supported me through my own personal and professional development and growth, such as studying for a Foundation CIPD certification, being promoted to Business and People Manager, gaining qualification as a Mental Health First Aider, managing an internal on-boarding process with our Group Director of Operations. Supporting the wider Board on business-related matters has seen my career experience and progress more than I thought was possible.
How do you add value to your customers?
Customer service is an integral part of my role, and providing exceptional service reflects how I would want to be treated. I take the time to understand the assignment and the client/candidate's needs. My service to them is to be responsive, provide clear guidelines, outline our involvement and provide them with a regular point of contact. Value is in the response time objective, as this demonstrates to our customers the standards we hold ourselves against and the quality of our service. In doing so, customers will see and experience the value of coming to MRG and what they can expect from us. Quality is demonstrated in the delivery of our service, and that is to ensure our customers feel valued.
