Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, the appointed candidate is responsible for the planning & delivery of changes to building services systems to optimise efficient operation resulting in carbon and cost reductions. As well as the surveying of buildings to recommend costed and prioritised energy efficiency projects.

They will review building services operation and performance to evaluate what changes can be made, before coordinating building services energy performance improvements. The role holder will work closely with the newly appointed Senior BMS and Controls Engineer. Responsibilities also include analysis of building energy data, deliver energy efficiency surveys, produce energy improvement business cases and set energy performance.

Applicants should be a qualified mechanical engineer and demonstrate an understanding of BMS systems. This is a very practical role, looking at how systems work in practice, visiting plantrooms and working up understanding from first principles to find out how systems work and how they can be improved. The postholder will be required to collaborate with the wider estates team and show business acumen and a proactive approach to energy savings.
