We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Design Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on industrial and commercial building construction projects. As a Senior MEP Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and coordination of MEP systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. You will collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall building design.
Responsibilities:
Design Leadership: Lead the MEP design process from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with local codes, regulations, and industry standards. Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet project requirements.
System Integration: Coordinate MEP systems with architectural and structural elements to optimize space utilization, functionality, and aesthetics. Ensure seamless integration of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in MEP design, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical power distribution, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection. Evaluate and select appropriate equipment, materials, and technologies to achieve project goals.
Sustainability: Integrate sustainable design principles into MEP systems to minimize environmental impact, improve energy efficiency, and enhance occupant comfort. Incorporate renewable energy sources, energy-efficient equipment, and water-saving strategies where applicable.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of MEP designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications. Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies in collaboration with project team members.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate MEP design activities and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts. Participate in design meetings, site visits, and project reviews as necessary.
Documentation: Prepare detailed MEP drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports using industry-standard software tools. Ensure all design documentation is clear, accurate, and properly coordinated with other disciplines.
Team Development: Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers to foster their professional growth and development. Provide technical support, training, and feedback to enhance their skills and knowledge in MEP design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in MEP design for industrial and commercial building construction projects.
Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of latest trends and technologies in MEP design.
