Job Title: Mechanical Drafter with BIM Capability for Industrial Building Construction

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter with expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) to join our dynamic team specializing in industrial building construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical drafting and design, coupled with proficiency in utilizing BIM software for comprehensive project coordination and execution. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge industrial facilities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Drafting and Design: Produce detailed mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications for industrial building systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection, adhering to industry standards and project requirements.
2. Building Information Modeling (BIM): Utilize BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP) to develop accurate 3D models of mechanical systems within the context of overall building design, ensuring coordination and clash detection with other disciplines.
3. Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into the building design, resolving conflicts and optimizing spatial arrangements through BIM coordination meetings and clash detection analysis.
4. Documentation Management: Maintain organized documentation of mechanical drawings, models, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, version control, and compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Quality Assurance: Perform thorough reviews and checks of mechanical drawings and BIM models to identify errors, inconsistencies, and constructability issues, implementing corrective actions to maintain design integrity and quality.
6. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to project teams during construction phases, addressing inquiries, interpreting drawings, and collaborating on design modifications as needed to ensure successful implementation of mechanical systems.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to mechanical drafting, BIM, and industrial construction, actively seeking opportunities for process optimization and skill enhancement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience (10 years) in mechanical drafting and design for industrial building construction projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Experience with clash detection analysis and coordination processes in BIM environments is preferred
