What do you do at MRG?
I am the Finance Director – so my main focus is looking after the numbers. I also help with internal projects involving IT and HR.
What are you most proud about what you have achieved in your career to date?
I am proud to have been a part of the team who founded MRG People Asia in 2019. A challenging project that resulted in a thriving business.
What inspired you to get into Finance?
Experience. I started work as an Accounts Assistant in 2001. I enjoyed the job and continued to follow this career path. Who wouldn’t want to work with spreadsheets all day?!
What have you found interesting / different about working within an Executive Search company?
Definitely the people – there are lots of interesting characters at MRG.
What have you found the most challenging since you started your career?
The Covid-19 pandemic. Businesses needed to act fast and think smart to survive the Economic impact.
What do you think the biggest misconception people have about you is?
That my mind is like a calculator – when the bill comes at a restaurant it always gets handed to me and I’m expected to be able to split it 7 ways in under ten seconds!
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
That I have watched all 236 episodes of ‘Friends’ at least 20 times each.
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
“Live for today – tomorrow is never promised”
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Sensible, calm, persistent.
