Overview of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer:

Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineers play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of building systems. They are responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems within a building, ensuring they operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations.

M&E Engineers work on a wide range of projects, from small residential buildings to large commercial or industrial complexes. Their expertise is critical in areas such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), power distribution, lighting systems, fire safety systems, and building automation. They often collaborate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet the needs of the building’s occupants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Evaluate and coordinate complex building systems, addressing design and installation challenges.
  • Engage in the coordination of engineering solutions for large-scale, complex projects.
  • Ensure MEP work adheres to all relevant codes and standards.
  • Work closely with project managers and other engineers to ensure project success.
  • Offer technical support for troubleshooting and on-site investigations.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clean room and semiconductor factory projects or data centers.
  • Proficiency in Japanese (both written and spoken) is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of MEP construction methods and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with complex projects.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work abroad.
