What do you do at MRG?
I’m the Chief of Staff to the Managing Director based in Mumbai. I support them through a combination of personal executive assistance, strategic operations, process optimisation and special projects.
Additionally, my role spans HR, administration, data management, marketing, research, RPO, and executive search support, as well as any additional support needed to drive the overall success of the MRG team across India and Emerging Markets.
What are you most proud of in your career so far?
As a young professional, one of my most fulfilling moments was helping a brilliant candidate who had taken a career break due to family commitments reenter the workforce. I connected her with one of our clients, and she landed the right opportunity. She still stays in touch and often tells me how much she values the effort I put in. That makes it all worthwhile.
How did you get into recruitment, and why?
I started my career as a forensic psychologist, but soon realised I wanted to work with people differently. Recruitment felt like the right pivot because it allows me to connect ambitious companies with equally ambitious and talented individuals. It’s a perfect blend of purpose and people for me.
What energises you about working in this sector?
It’s the satisfaction of solving problems. No challenge is too big or too small. Everything has a solution. Helping someone find the right role or helping a company find the right person means solving a very real and impactful problem. That’s incredibly energising.
What’s the biggest change you’ve seen in recruitment since you started?
As I primarily work with the Indian market, I’ve noticed a significant shift, especially after the COVID pandemic. People are drawing clearer boundaries between work and personal life. There’s a conscious effort now to prioritise balance, family, and well-being while still being ambitious and productive. It’s a beautiful change to witness.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I’m Batman. Just kidding…….I wish!
But what most people don’t know is how much I love music. I try to attend as many gigs and shows as possible. Growing up, my parents always had music playing around the house, and our road trips were filled with song. Those memories ground me, and music remains an essential part of my life today.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“What’s the worst that can happen?”
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Calm, approachable, and ambitious.
