What is your role at MRG?
My role at MRG is an Associate Director, based in Riyadh, where my focus is primarily on Giga-Projects across KSA, private developers, family offices, investment and PE funds, and more!
What are you most proud that you have achieved in your career?
I am most proud of my first year in recruitment, with zero experience at the time, achieving the highest biller award. I then finally got my first nice car!
However, personally, since then, my biggest achievement to date is my family. I am very fortunate in life with my husband, who is the salt of the earth, and our two little boys. We recently got married in the Seychelles, where it was just the four of us, and it was beyond special. The happiest year of my life so far was 2024.
How did you get into recruitment, and why?
I got into recruitment, like many, by accident, to be honest. I did a Law degree, and while figuring out my next steps. I fell into legal recruitment, which I loved! This led to a relocation to London, where I joined a search firm focussing on financial services and specialised in RE Fund Management.
What energises you about working in this sector?
I am really excited about the scale of opportunity that is in front of us in KSA and being part of the 2030 Vision. I am thrilled to support the ME team in building on their existing relationships and helping carve a unique space in the market for myself and the wider team at MRG.
What’s the biggest thing that’s changed in recruitment since you started?
Technology is the biggest. LinkedIn is an incredible tool for finding relevant connections and information. MS Teams, a platform allowing colleagues working all around the world to stay connected.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I have a cavapoo called Albus. He is still in the UK, living with my dad, until we decide if moving him to Saudi Arabia is right for him. It’s tough. But he is in very good hands, and he is very happy!
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
“If you don’t ever get it wrong, how will you ever get it right.”
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Committed, Understanding, and an Excellent Listener – I think.
And finally, who would play you in the movie about your life?
Hermione Granger, an only child who loves spells. Real muggles!
