JLL appointed MRG to lead a multi-hire campaign for the senior leadership team at 40 Leadenhall, M&G’s landmark 900,000 sq ft development in the heart of the City of London. Due for completion in 2023, the scheme was one of the most significant and most advanced office developments under construction in the UK, designed by Make Architects to offer premium workspace, cutting-edge amenities, and world-class sustainability credentials.

Overcoming Challenges

The campaign required the successful appointment of multiple senior leaders under tight timeframes, each role demanding deep sector knowledge, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering industry-leading customer service. The challenge was to identify individuals who could not only lead their respective functions but also collaborate seamlessly as a newly formed leadership team.

OUR PROCESS

MRG collaborated with JLL and the 40 Leadenhall branding team to deliver a comprehensive search and attraction strategy. This included a suite of individual, role-specific brochures, a visual marketing campaign, and targeted LinkedIn advertising. The campaign generated high engagement across digital channels, helping to reinforce the distinct identity of the development while attracting top-tier talent.

Over 200 candidates were approached across all roles. Throughout the process, Thomas PPA behavioural assessments were used to support interview panels with deeper insights into candidate fit and leadership style. Once appointed, the new Head of 40 Leadenhall joined the interview panels for the remaining hires, helping to shape a cohesive and complementary senior team.

From launch to final offer, the whole recruitment programme was completed within six months, delivering a high-performing team ready to lead one of the capital’s most prestigious buildings into its next chapter.
