MRG has partnered with Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) since 2020, supporting the appointment of senior leaders and technical professionals across estate strategy, capital projects, property, engineering and facilities management. During that time, we have delivered 37 appointments, including Executive Director, Director, Senior Management and SME positions. Our long-standing relationship has given us a strong understanding of the Trust’s incredibly complex estate, strategic priorities and culture.
Now, we are supporting Essentia the Estates Division for GSTT, with eight new opportunities across engineering, infrastructure and FM services.
“Healthcare is a hugely important sector for MRG, and we are proud of the work we do supporting organisations that provide such essential services to communities. Our partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’ is a great example of that commitment. Having supported over 30 appointments since 2020, we understand the scale, complexity and importance of the Trust’s work, and we are delighted to be supporting Essentia again as it builds the leadership and specialist expertise needed for the future.”
– Ben Duffill, UK Managing Director, MRG
Guy’s & St Thomas’ is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country, with around 22,700 colleagues, 2.8 million patient contacts each year and annual turnover of £2.9 billion. Its estate includes Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield, alongside community services across Lambeth and Southwark.
Essentia provides the non-clinical services and infrastructure that enable this complex healthcare environment to operate safely and effectively. Its responsibilities span engineering, estates, capital development, facilities management, logistics, transport, security, housekeeping and other essential services.
The eight opportunities reflect the scale and importance of that remit. At senior leadership level, we are recruiting three Assistant Directors across Engineering Compliance, Portering and Housekeeping. The Assistant Director, Engineering Compliance will provide strategic leadership across engineering compliance, assurance and infrastructure governance. The Assistant Director, Portering and Assistant Director, Housekeeping take responsibility for shaping critical frontline services, leading large teams and driving improvements in performance, innovation, technology and patient experience.
The wider campaign includes opportunities across Engineering Compliance Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, Patient Transport Services Operations Manager and Housekeeping Manager roles.
These are more than technical or operational appointments. In a healthcare environment of this scale and complexity, engineering, infrastructure and support services are fundamental to patient care. The people appointed will have the opportunity to influence how essential services are delivered, improve performance and resilience, and make a lasting impact across some of London’s most important hospitals and community services.
For candidates, this is an opportunity to join a nationally recognised healthcare organisation and work at genuine scale. For MRG, it represents the next phase in truly rewarding partnership.
If you are an experienced leader or specialist in engineering, estates, facilities management, logistics, transport or a related field, we would be pleased to speak with you about these opportunities.
