What is your role at MRG?
I work as a Recruitment Consultant, focusing on Real Estate, Infrastructure and Hospitality sectors. I focus on end-to-end hiring, from understanding client requirements to sourcing, evaluating and placing the right candidates. I also focus on building strong client relationships and ensuring that every hire is the right fit.
What are you most proud of that you have achieved in your career to date?
I’m most proud of building genuine, lasting relationships with both clients and candidates early in my career. For me success isn’t just about closing a role, it’s also about understanding people and making placements that truly feel right for everyone involved.
How did you get into recruitment, and why?
I came across an opportunity for a Research Associate role on LinkedIn, which introduced me to recruitment. What drew me in was how naturally it aligned with who I am, I’ve always been a people person, and I genuinely enjoy understanding and helping others. Recruitment felt like the right space where I could do that while also creating meaningful impact by connecting people with the right opportunities.
What energises you about working in this sector?
I am energised by the people aspect of this sector wherein I get the opportunity to interact, understand and connect with individuals from different backgrounds. I also enjoy the dynamic nature of recruitment, where every role and every conversation is different and you’re constantly growing while making a real impact.
What’s the biggest thing that’s changed in recruitment since you started?
The biggest shift has been the move from volume hiring to a more relationship-led, consultative approach. There’s now a stronger focus on quality, candidate experience and long-term fit rather than just quick closures.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
One thing that people usually don’t know about me is that I’m a trained classical singer and I’ve been learning since class 2. Its something that’s really shaped my discipline and patience over the years.
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
The best advice that I’ve received is that perseverance is key no matter how tough things get, just keep showing up and you’ll eventually find a way through.
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
The three words my co-workers would use to describe me are: reliable, empathetic and proactive.
And finally, who would play you in the movie about your life?
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, as she’s witty, hardworking and embodies the strong “desi girl” narrative, which is something I really resonate with.
