What is your role at MRG?
I am a Delivery Consultant for the Health, Science, & Education Estate Development Team, and I am responsible for research and resources in the UK.
What are you most proud about that you have achieved in your career to date?
I started in recruitment in Cape Town, then expanded to cover South Africa more broadly, Africa, Canada, and now the UK. This progression is something I’m particularly proud of, as it has allowed me to learn about different cultures and ways of working around the world. It’s been an invaluable experience, both professionally and personally.
How did you get into recruitment, and why?
I ventured into recruitment as a start to working on my soft skills should I venture back into coastal management. But I stayed and now enjoy providing individuals with opportunities to change their lives.
What energises you about working in this sector?
I am for the people.
What’s the biggest thing that’s changed in recruitment since you started?
From pitching to clients, we are now also pitching to candidates.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I am an introverted extrovert. I can be bubbly, but I can also be quiet.
What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Remain focused.
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Determined, ambitious, and resilient.
