Senior Project Manager

King’s College London is rated among the world’s top universities and ranked sixth in the UK for the quality and quantity of its research activity. Since its foundation in 1829 King’s has defined itself in terms of its service to society, and it now has some 29,000 students and more than 8,000 staff members.

King’s College London is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a transformative £70m refurbishment and remedial works project at our Champion Hill estate in south London. This key project aims to enhance and deliver a sustainable, inclusive estate that meets the highest standards of building safety, sustainability, and student experience.

The Champion Hill estate, located in Denmark Hill, provides 714 beds for students across six blocks, including a Grade II-listed building. The planning application received consent in January 2025, with phased completion expected in September 2026 and September 2027.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the scheme in conjunction with the Development Manager, Arlington Advisors and Principal Contractor Watkin Jones Group to ensure project milestones are met.

We welcome applicants with a background in higher education estates, large-scale residential, or student accommodation delivery within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A strong track record of leading large-scale student accommodation or residential development projects in the £40m+ value range
  • Proven expertise in design development, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience delivering projects in live or operational environments.
  • A collaborative and communicative leadership style.
  • Knowledge of timber frame structures (desirable).

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious project professional to take personal responsibility for the leadership of a high-profile and complex development.
