Job Title: Senior Project Engineer – Data Center Construction
Job Summary: The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing engineering and technical aspects of data center construction projects from initial design through commissioning and turnover.
This role will oversee and coordinate the work of design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all design, quality, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all engineering deliverables including design development, construction documentation, submittal reviews, RFIs, and commissioning
• Conduct design and constructability reviews to ensure designs meet operational requirements and construction best practices
• Manage the transition from design to construction, ensuring construction documents and permit packages are complete and accurate
• Oversee construction activities on site, monitoring progress, quality, and ensuring compliance with design specifications
• Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, and internal engineering teams throughout projects
• Perform technical evaluations, value engineering, and develop solutions to complex engineering challenges
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and ensure conformance to design intent
• Manage project turnover, commissioning, and client acceptance processes • Ensure projects adhere to schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements Competencies and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering • 5-8 years of progressive experience in construction & project management and minimum 2-3 years in construction of data centers.
• Extensive knowledge of data center systems including MEP, Building Management System (BMS)
• Strong technical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with design/engineering software and construction documentation
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional teams
• PMP or data center certification is a plus
