Senior Project Director – Earthworks
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Director, Earthworks, to join a leading infrastructure program in Saudi Arabia. This confidential role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of multiple roads and earthworks packages within a large-scale, high-profile development. The position reports directly to the Senior Construction Director –Earthworks and requires a strong background in project leadership and execution within major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee clear, accurate, and integrated project execution for multiple earthworks packages involving bulk soil and rock movement.
- Lead multiple project teams, ensuring adherence to planning and project control systems specific to the program.
- Manage forecasting, cost management, and financial/cash flow systems with a high degree of IT proficiency.
- Maintain regular updates to leadership teams on project performance and contract status.
- Foster collaboration with development teams to fully understand scope, risk, and integration requirements.
- Proactively support procurement, planning, and execution teams to ensure safe and successful delivery.
- Partner closely with contractors and delivery teams to optimise project and contract performance.
- Communicate effectively and accurately across all levels, ensuring clarity in all forms.
- Mitigate risks and identify opportunities to enhance delivery outcomes.
- Champion health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Develop and mentor project teams to drive continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven leadership in managing earthworks and infrastructure projects.
- Expertise in project controls, cost management, and financial systems.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex contracts.
- High-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with risk and opportunity management in large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contractors.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering infrastructure projects at a senior level, preferably within the Middle East or other large-scale international programs. Experience with Tier 1 contractors or managing Tier 1 contractors is essential. A proactive approach, combined with technical expertise and a focus on team development, is critical for success in this role.
