As they continue to expand, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior FP&A Manager to join their team and drive financial stability and operational success.

Position Summary
The Senior FP&A Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy and decision-making processes. This role involves overseeing financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to ensure strategic goals are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, a profound understanding of the construction industry, and exceptional leadership skills to guide the FP&A team and collaborate across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and manage the annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, including project profitability, cost variances, and key performance metrics.
  • Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities to guide strategic decisions.
  • Report on the budget and business plan quarterly, monitoring actuals against the budget.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Recommend strategies for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximizations.

Financial Modelling and Business Case Analysis

  • Build financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital investments, and business case evaluations.
  • Assess the financial feasibility of new projects, acquisitions, and partnerships.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate potential outcomes and risks.

Performance Measurement and KPI Tracking

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate financial performance.
  • Highlight areas of concern and propose corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing management presentations for board meetings and investor relations.

Project & Operational Support

  • Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to track project budgets and ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Support contract and bid analysis to assess financial feasibility and risks.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow projections for capital planning and liquidity management.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor a team of FP&A analysts, fostering professional growth and excellence.
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure data accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
  • Work closely with Operations, Procurement, HR, and other departments to align financial strategies with business goals.

Process Improvement

  • Streamline and enhance financial planning and reporting tools, systems, and processes.
  • Implement best practices in FP&A to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Champion the use of technology and data analytics in financial decision-making.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including at least 3 years in a leadership role and 10 years in a main contractor or general contractor environment.
  • Experience in the construction or related industries is essential.

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial data to non-financial audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and driving efficiency in financial operations.
