Job Profile
A highly reputable Cape Town-based real estate business is seeking a Senior HR Manager to lead a progressive, hands-on human resource’s function supporting both internal teams and affiliated entities. This is a pivotal role for an experienced HR generalist who can combine operational excellence with strategic execution across a dynamic, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an established HR team of 11, including specialists in payroll, skills development, organisational development, CSR & wellness, and HR business partnering.
  • Oversee end-to-end HR generalist operations, ensuring best practice across recruitment, performance management, employee wellbeing, and compliance.
  • Act as a key custodian of transformation, supporting BBBEE and EE implementation, contributing to a long-term equity strategy, and coordinating data with external verification consultants.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to employee relations and IR management.
  • Drive the future digital evolution of the HR function. Current systems are Excel-based, with a long-term vision to implement fit-for-purpose HR tech.
  • Support HR oversight across connected lifestyle and hospitality entities, including a prominent food hall, social impact initiatives, and future hotel operations.
  • Embed HR practices that are legally compliant, people-centred, and operationally effective in a purpose-driven environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5–7 year’s progressive generalist HR experience, with at least 3 years in a management or senior advisory capacity.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR, behavioural sciences, or commerce.
  • Sound working knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EE Act, Skills Development, etc.).
  • Proven track record in performance management, equity strategy, transformation planning, recruitment, and policy development.
  • Naturally collaborative with the gravitas to lead teams and influence senior leadership.
  • Comfortable working in an open-plan, on-site environment, with hybrid flexibility (typically 1 day remote per week).
