Are you ready to lead the financial controls function for one of the most ambitious projects in the world? MRG Global is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client for an exceptional leader to fill the role of Executive Director – Financial Controls.

Overview:
Our client is a PIF-backed project located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Our client is seeking an Executive Director to oversee the organization's financial control and accounting processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a critical function within a ground-breaking project.

Responsibilities:
As the Executive Director – Financial Controls, you will be responsible for:

• Rigorous Financial Reporting: Ensure adherence to IFRS and control standards across all accounting processes, maintaining accuracy and operational excellence.
• Cash Management: Lead cash flow management for the group, overseeing payments, purchase-to-pay processes, revenue recognition, fixed assets management, and general ledger.
• Accounting Expertise: Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and provide guidance on complex issues such as fixed assets, impairment, revenue recognition, and financial instrument accounting.
• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate financial risks.
• Consolidation and Reporting: Drive the consolidation process, enhancing accuracy and providing insightful financial reporting to stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other functions to enhance financial processes, standardize procedures, and prepare for automation.
• Strategic Planning: Prospectively plan for shared services operations, aligning with the organization's growth and efficiency goals, and driving automation and digital initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Develop and train the financial controls team, ensuring performance targets are met and fostering a culture of excellence.

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will possess:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting/finance.
• Professional certifications such as FCA or FCCA.
• Minimum of 15+ years of finance experience, including 8-10 years in finance leadership roles in large and complex organizations.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and international financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and IT skills, with experience in SAP and Aconex desirable.
• Leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage a large accounting team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in construction contracting, asset leasing, or entertainment providers industry is advantageous.
