Regional Surveyor – (Gloucestershire, West Midlands and Hertfordshire)

Established in 1954, Camphill Village Trust is a National Charity that supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems.

We operate in both rural and urban communities, building on our care (social) farming legacy. Our focus is on enabling potential for people with support needs through farming, organic horticulture and enterprise cantered on nature and traditional skills. We have a truly unique rural and urban estate, with over 350 properties. The stock features artisan Stiener design homes and buildings, through to listed period properties, former country estates, farmhouses and farm buildings. The Surveyor will be personally responsible for properties located in Gloucestershire, West Midlands and Hertfordshire.  

The Surveyor will act in the best interests of the Trust and its people in all that they do, to support an ambitious programme of works through planned maintenance, refurbishment and investment. As a professional advisor to the Trust, you will play a crucial role in assessing and recording the condition of our properties, project management of investment projects and programmes of work through internal teams or specialist external advisors. The Trust is developing an environmental strategy and has a significant investment programme working towards Net Zero. You will be involved in developing and implementing this plan of works and knowledge and experience of sustainable property management is desirable.

Reporting to the Head of Assets and Compliance, the Surveyor is a key role in the development of a new Estates function for the Trust at exciting and ambitious period of change and transformation.

We are seeking an individual with significant experience of leading refurbishment and strategic maintenance programmes across a diverse multi-site estate portfolio.   You will have a highly customer-focused mindset, with high levels of enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference to the wellbeing of vulnerable people.

Experience of working across a broad range of property types would be advantageous, as in this role you will get the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of buildings including heritage assets.
