Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Manager with expertise in industrial building construction projects. The Quantity Manager will be responsible for accurately estimating material quantities, preparing cost estimates, and managing the procurement process to ensure project objectives are met within budgetary constraints. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to optimize cost efficiency and maintain project quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quantity Estimation: Utilize industry-standard methods and software tools to accurately estimate material quantities required for industrial building projects, including but not limited to structural steel, concrete, piping, electrical components, and finishing materials.
  2. Cost Estimation: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates based on quantity takeoffs, labor rates, material prices, and other relevant factors, ensuring accuracy and completeness to support project budgeting and bidding processes.
  3. Procurement Management: Collaborate with procurement team members to source materials and subcontractor services, negotiate pricing and terms, and coordinate delivery schedules to meet project timelines and budgetary requirements.
  4. Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle, proposing alternative materials or construction methods without compromising quality or safety standards.
  5. Change Order Management: Evaluate change orders and variations to the original scope of work, assessing their impact on project costs and schedules, and providing timely recommendations to project stakeholders.
  6. Cost Control: Monitor project expenses against budget allocations, track cost variances, and implement corrective measures as needed to mitigate risks and optimize project profitability.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quantity surveys, cost estimates, procurement activities, and related documentation, generating regular reports and updates for project stakeholders.
  8. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and coordination of quantity management activities across all project phases.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation, with a proven track record of success in industrial building projects.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision in quantity estimation and cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to quantity surveying, cost management, and procurement processes.
