About the Company:

Our client is a leading multinational fit-out contractor with a strong global presence and a reputation for delivering high-quality interior and mission-critical environments. With newly established operations in Malaysia, they are expanding rapidly to support a growing pipeline of data centre and commercial fit-out projects across the region. 

Role Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and well-connected QS Manager to lead the commercial and procurement functions for interior fit-out and data centre projects in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying within a main contractor or subcontractor environment and be capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Strong local market knowledge and established relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties for fit-out and data centre projects.
  • Lead procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and contractual claims.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, local regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide commercial advice and reporting to project and senior management teams.
  • Support project delivery teams with cost control and value engineering initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on interior fit-out and/or data centre projects.
  • Strong network of local subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers in Malaysia.
  • Proven experience working with main contractors or specialist subcontractors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of commercial responsibilities.
  • Fluent in English
