About the role:
On behalf of our client, The Management Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Planning Director to support the delivery of a pioneering giga-project in Saudi Arabia. This role will lead the planning and project controls function across a portfolio of major hospitality and residential assets, ensuring alignment with project milestones and delivery strategy.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead programme planning and scheduling across multiple high-profile hotel and residential projects, from pre-construction through to handover.
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, integrating inputs from design, procurement, and delivery teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to monitor progress, identify delays, and implement recovery strategies.
- Deliver high-quality programme reporting and performance analysis to senior stakeholders, ensuring risks and opportunities are clearly communicated.
- Champion planning and scheduling best practices across the delivery function, driving efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior planners and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative project controls environment
You will need to be:
The ideal candidate will be a planning expert with a background in delivering large scale hotel projects. You will be an effective communicator, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and providing leadership in planning, reporting, and coordination of project timelines. A structured, analytical mindset and the ability to drive outcomes across large project teams are essential.
Background, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Over 15+ years of experience in planning and project controls on major hotel projects.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and familiar with a range of planning and reporting tools.
- Experience working in a client-side or PMC capacity on large-scale developments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
