Job Summary:
The Head of Funding and Investment will be responsible for leading and managing the company’s funding strategy, investment initiatives, and financial partnerships. This role requires a strong understanding of real estate markets, particularly within Malaysia, and the ability to develop and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in structuring and securing funding for large-scale property development projects and will be integral in driving the financial growth and stability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Funding Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of funding strategies, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term business goals and real estate development plans.
- Investment Management: Oversee all investment activities, including capital raising, investment structuring, and portfolio management, ensuring optimal returns for the company.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Collaborate with the finance team to forecast financial requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects, monitor cash flow, and manage financial risks.
- Investor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to secure funding and investment opportunities.
- Capital Structuring: Develop and implement innovative capital structures to optimize the financing of development projects, including debt and equity financing options.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks related to investments and funding activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with financial and investment regulations.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact funding and investment strategies, adapting accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of finance and investment professionals, driving high performance and alignment with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. An MBA or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a similar role, with a strong focus on real estate or property development.
- Proven track record in securing funding for large-scale real estate projects, including both debt and equity financing.
- Strong understanding of the Malaysian real estate market, with established relationships with local and international investors and financial institutions.
- Excellent financial modeling, analysis, and structuring skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with local financial regulations and compliance requirements.
