About the job:
The Electrical Design Engineer will lead the design, development, and testing of advanced electrical systems and components. This senior role involves guiding cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet complex project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations while also mentoring junior engineers.

Design and Development:

  • Development of electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications based on advanced project requirements.
  • Design sophisticated electrical systems for high-performance applications, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Select and evaluate appropriate components and materials for advanced electrical designs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership in the development of innovative electrical design solutions.

Testing and Validation:

  • Testing and validation of complex electrical systems and components to ensure superior performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve advanced electrical issues, proposing and implementing innovative improvement solutions.
  • Develop and implement rigorous testing protocols and methodologies.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC) with a deep understanding of their applications.
  • Stay updated on and incorporate emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in electrical engineering into design practices.

Documentation:

  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed design specifications, test plans, and analytical reports.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough records of design changes, revisions, and technical decisions.

Collaboration:

  • Collaboration with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and other team members to integrate electrical systems into complex product designs.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of advanced electrical designs.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical) and electrical design tools.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and systems.
