MRG Global is seeking a Director of Environmental (Roads & Earthworks) on behalf of our client. This role will lead the environmental initiatives related to the road development projects across one of the largest and most complex road and civil programs.
You will be responsible for integrating environmental considerations into the planning, design, and execution of road projects across the entire lifecycle of this roads and earthworks program.
This is a strategic role for a hands-on leader who’s delivered at scale. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping sustainable infrastructure, ensuring environmental compliance, and implementing best practices from early design through to delivery.
You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with environmental regulations, sustainability goals, and stakeholder expectations, while innovating for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental strategies, policies, and frameworks across road and civil works projects.
- Lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), risk evaluations, and mitigation planning across all phases of road development.
- Partner with engineering, design, and delivery teams to ensure environmental considerations are embedded early and effectively.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and manage permitting processes
- Guide internal teams and contractors on environmental best practices
Experience:
- 10–15 years’ experience leading environmental programs on major infrastructure or road construction projects.
- Proven track record of managing environmental risk and compliance on high-value civil projects.
- Degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or similar (Master’s preferred)
