More recently, I’ve supported giga-projects in Saudi Arabia, helping to shape the future of the built environment across the region.

Q&A With Matthew

How has your career at MRG progressed?

I joined MRG in 2019 as part of the public sector team, specialising in maintenance and engineering leadership appointments. During my five years in this role, I was fortunate enough to work with clients who have world-class estates, including the University of Oxford, the UK Parliament, and King's College London. I also supported the private sector team on engineering leadership roles for iconic assets, including 22 Bishopsgate, 40 Leadenhall and Harrods.

In 2024, I joined the MRG international team and relocated to Dubai, UAE. Responsible for serving our existing clients in the region and developing our offering in the UAE.

How do you add value to your customers?

The ability to listen to a client's requirements and understand their culture and values. By taking time to understand this at the briefing stage, it allows me to not only find candidates that have the right qualifications and skillset, but they are also the right cultural fit for the company.

Is there a particular project that you have been involved in that you're proud of?

The Head of Engineering & Maintenance search for the University of Oxford. This was MRG's first retained campaign with the University, in a sector that MRG excels in. It proved to be a successful search and now MRG have a valuable partnership with the University of Oxford.
